I have an Problem with Lightroom 6.0-6.3 on MacOSX 10.10.4. The Programm Start took so much longer than witch 5.7.1.
LR 5.7.1 --> 20sec.
LR 6.3 --> 45sec.
The overall Performance of Version 6 ist very disappointing. I switched back to LR 5

You meant the Lightroom launch time? Are you on a perpetual license? Can you copy and paste the info in your Lightroom system info dialog here? Thanks. Is the timing for Lr 6.3 the time of the first launch after the install? How about the timing for the subsequent launches? I would suggest doing a preference reset (holding down Shift+Alt/Option key while launching Lr) to clear out some of the legacy pref entries.

Hello,
thanks for your reply. I mean the launch time, yes. I am on perpetual License.

I did your preferences reset. Now the launch time is as fast as 5!!! Great! Thanks a lot. I am a little confused. I de-installed LR6 in the past and also deleted the preferences in the preferences folder. But after a re-install the performance of LR6 was slow as before. I work with LR6 and see if the problem occurs again.

Is the shortcut for win the same? I have friends with Win7 with the same Problem as me.

Good to hear it helped. On Windows, it is the Shift+Alt key combination. Upon launch, Lr will look for the pref file for the current version, if not found, it will try to look for and load the pref file from the earlier Lr version (to preserve your past preferences). That is good in general, but it also means it could bring over preference entries that are no longer good for the new version of Lr.
