LR 5.7.1 crashes on trying to open preferences, Windows 8.1 64-bit

Hi,

On trying to open Lightroom preferences, it crashes without fail.

What am I doing wrong? I tried repairing and re-installing.

Hi Rikk,

Yes, and the format was already set with commas.

I've also deleted the entire C:\Users\Derek\AppData\Adobe\Lightroom directory. That didn't help either.

I don't see where, in your uninstall, reinstall attempts that you trashed your preference file.

It will survive and uninstall/reinstall so it needs to be dealt with separately. I am not certain, your having deleted that directory would have gotten it.

Rikk,

I first attempted the repair option in the lightroom installer.

I next uninstalled Lightroom and installed it back.

I then renamed the C:\Users\Derek\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom directory. It got recreated. However, none of this has helped. Did I miss something?
