Photoshop CC 2015: Problems transforming smart objects

I upgraded to CC2015.. not happy.
Lot's of weird stuff going on.
1 I cannot transform a Smartobject
2 I cannot select a layer mask, let alone paint on it.
3 LR is very unresponsive, a simple slider would normally change a colour now it takes ages.

Is there a way to remove photoshop and LR and retain my settings so I can start from scratch?

I am on OSX 10.10.3 with a Macpro 2013 6-core.

thanks,
Mark

LightRoom and Photoshop are separate products - and need separate bug reports/suggestions/etc.

Why can you not transform a smart object?

What happens when you try to select a layer mask or paint on it?

I haven't heard other users having problems with either of those.

I am not sure why I can't transform a smart object.. or normal objects for that matter.
If I try to select a layer mask it just doesn't select it.
The workaround for now is to delete the layer mask and then add a layermask again.
Now I can paint on the added layermask. but if I select another layer and try to go back ... I cannot select it anymore and therefore not paint on it.

I have more vague problems. I am one of very little people who can't run Topaz plugins.

I did a re-install but nothing I do seems to matter.

Going to bed now, but any follow ups I will read tomorrow morning.

thank you!

I don't know either - other people are using free transform without a problem.
What exactly are you seeing when you try to use free transform?

And I haven't seen anyone else with problems selecting a layer mask, either.

Do you have any third party plugins installed? Have you tried disabling them? (thinking that a bad automation plugin, or even extension panel could cause odd issues)

Hi Chris,

I removed all plgins and extensions and there was no difference.
I think the file I am using might be corrupted... although I can still work on it (for as far as it goes)
So I am trying some other files now and so far so good.

thanks.

I am having the same problem when I try to transform a smart object in PSCC 2015, and i Have had this problem on several images so I don't think it's a matter of image corruption. I have had some success by restarting the program as well, bu not much. I have never had this issue before! It is really annoying.

With me the file was corrupted,. maybe you have more corrupted files?
Maybe just download a jpg, or use a screenshot from your computer to check?
I remember that the highlight color on Layers in the layer panel was different.

did you try trashing the preference files?

I have some problems with Smart Objects with Smart Filters in Photoshop CC2015.1 (release 09/12/2015). Photoshop becomes so slow that I can not work...

If I open the exactly same file in CC2014, then there is no problem, and Photoshop СС20114 works as fast as usual.

We haven't seen that at all, so we'll need a lot more specific information to try and reproduce the slowdown you are seeing.

One more thing.
This file was opened in CC2015.1:

Exactly the same file was opened in CC2014 after it was opened in CC2015.1. This is pretty annoying:
