Lightroom: Lost keyword hierarchy upgrading from LR 2.7 to 3.4

I have a catalog in LR 2.7 with 33.484 pictures. All but 337 have keywords.(smart collection/without keywords)
When I open the catalog in 3.4.1 (or 3.0) then LR will convert the catalog to a new format. In the process the keywords are lost or at least they don’t show up in the keyword list (right side) except for a few hundred pictures. This means a few months work lost or I have to stay on 2.7.
The strange thing is that in 3.4. in smart collection it still says that 337 are without keywords.

At the top of the Keyword List panel is a search field. It can be sticky. Sometimes, if a character is entered in this field it will restrict the view of the Keyword List panel. Click on the small (x) on the right side of the search field to ensure it is cleared and see if your keywords return.

Thanks, good shot but did not solve my problem. I’m looking further into the problem and part of it may be caused by LR 3 new way of counting child levels / hierarchy. (as described in http://forums.adobe.com/message/2929573 )
I’ll come back later.

Sorry, looks like I made a mistake. The keywords are all there but the hierarchy count is not there like it was in 2.7 so when I looked at the highest level the count was there.

Example in 2.7.

408 Walking club
100 Party
200 Budapest
200 Summer 204

Same in 3.4. (collapsed)
8 Walking club (only 8 pictures)

Expanded in 3.4.
8 Walking club
100 Party
200 Budapest
200 Summer 204

Hope this will be “fixed” or at least made optional to have it the old way.
