Photoshop: PDF file Lost layers when opening

I have been using a PDF file with layers for months. Now all of a sudden when I try to open the PDF file, each page is flattened. I saved it with the layers (it's over 135KB) and I have opened it and edited it many times; so I know it's not how I saved the file.

Can someone tell me know to either convert my PDF to a PSD without having to open the file first, or how to open this file in Photoshop with the layers still working?

PS: I already ran a system restore, in case the last Adobe update was at fault, and I am still experiencing the problem.

If the file has layers, it will open the layers.

At some point you saved without layers.

Also, Photoshop hasn't had an update since late July.

Thank you for trying to help Chris, but that is not the problem. I did not make the mistake of saving this file without layers. I have 6 versions of this file between my computer and backups. The file size leads me to believe the layer info is still in the file, because the non-layer version is a fraction of the layered size. How Photoshop is opening the file has changed. I need help trying to figure out how to make Photoshop recognize all the information in the file.

Photoshop can only open the file one way, and that is dictated by the contents of the file.

If you can post the file somewhere for us to examine, we can take a look and see what is in the file.

Thanks. I'll look into where I can post a file this size and let you know.

I got a chance to work with my IT team today. They uninstalled and then reinstalled all my Adobe products and that seemed to work.

BTW - I just realized I had a typo. The file size was 136MB not KB.
