Loss of Saturation

When I take a RAW image from Camera RAW into Photoshop it appears to lose a lot of its saturation appearing much duller in photoshop than it was in camera RAW.  I can create a saturation layer in photoshop but  I would prefer to keep the levels I set in Camera Raw.  Does anybody know what is causing this and how to avoid it?  Thanks

My guess would be that when you're transferring into Photoshop it is in a different working color space causing values to shift to the destination color gamut. I've seen this with clients who edit in ProPhoto RGB and then have their working space set to sRGB.

I've also seen proof colors be active (CMD Y) and that is giving you a CMYK preview and that makes a file look less saturated than it's RGB equivalent.

Good luck!

Many thanks for the quick response.  I did have different settings and have changed everything to Adobe colour but there is still a slight change going from RAW to Photoshop.  At least I now know where the problem lies and will keep working on it.
