Lightroom: Lockups when using Sony RX100 over MTP

When I try to connecting my Sony RX100 over MTP (which is selected by the default "Auto" connection mode on the device), Lightroom completely locks up in Import module. WIndows offers to close Lightroom when I try to click on anything.

MTP itself works correctly outside Lightroom as Windows pops up a dialog offering various actions and explicitly recognizes the device. Opening or importing to Lightroom is not one of the options offered.

If I then open Lightroom, go to Library, and click Import, I get a lockup. I can see Lightroom recognized the device as an RX100 nothing else in the Lightroom window is usable or responding.

I can work around this by switching the RX100 into USB Mass Storage mode, but this obviously requires the user to understand this option exists and what exactly he problem is. In this case, in Lightroom there are two partitions visible, K:\PMHOME (which as far as I understand is created by the device and contains Sony's software) and J:\(Camera or Card Reader). Lightroom by default selects the PMHOME instead of the one it recognizes as being the camera. (This could be considered an additional small bug)

This problem persists with the 4.2 release.

Actually, it does eventually seem to come responsive again...after about 3 minutes. (No such problem in Mass Storage mode).

For some reason Lightroom is also not listed under the "Import pictures and videos" option in the MTP windows for the RX100. Well given this bug maybe that's not so bad :-P
