I'd love to see a button somewhere to lock/unlock the entire workspace layout in place so you can't edit it or accidentally close/move tabs or windows. Activating this would:

- remove the little close buttons on floating tabs

- disable moving any open floating or docked tabs, the options bar, or the toolbar from their current position

- disable un-docking open document windows by dragging them from this top bar:

- disable re-docking already floating windows (aware there's already an option for this)

Expanding collapsed tabs should still be possible in 'locked' mode. Clicking the lock button again would unlock the interface.

Thanks for listening!

There is already a command to lock panels in the workspace: Window > Workspace > Lock Workspace... but it doesn't lock document windows.

Oh? that sounds incredibly useful, thank you!

I can't seem to find it though, is there something I'm missing? Apologies if it's a stupid question!

Look under Arrange rather than Workspace.

Oh. Wow. I'm an idiot. I am now.... lol.

Apologies for timewasting, and thank you. This is really nice and does just about everything i was after, except for the windows and getting rid of the annoying close buttons on floating tabs.
