"Liquify: Freeze Mask" should have ability to load a mask based on alpha channel or path. Just a suggestion.

I often go into Liquify with an active selection, but for those times when I'm not anticipating exactly the mask I need, having some alpha channel masks in reserve to call upon and modify in Liquify if necessary, would be nice.

I've used the marquee tool to isolate parts of the canvas I wanted to liquify, but did not realize the selection actually applied a mask if it was non-square! The more you know...

So that means you just have to convert your existing alpha mask or path to a selection prior to activating the liquify.

Whatever selection is active works, yup. I usually don't need, or want, a really precise selection, so the Lasso or QS tool has been sufficient for my needs, but it's only the one.

Truthfully, I haven't felt the lack, but I can see how it could be more convenient, especially if someone uses Liquify a good deal. They may have already created the masks for some other purpose, and now those just go to waste while they recreate them inside Liquify.

But one you do indeed get to take in with you.
