In Adobe Fireworks CS6 which Adobe deemed surplus to requirement back in 2013, the gradient tool has these 12 styles/options: linear, radial, rectangle, cone, contour, satin, starburst, folds, ellipse, bars, ripples and waves.... Some of these are very useful for various effects the satin gradient option for example comes in very handy indeed. Photoshop's gradient tool by comparison is very limited. If you buy software and then discontiue support for it becuase it's similiar to Photoshop you could at least have the good sense to make sure the best and superior features of a little gem like Fireworks find their way into Photoshop.
