I would like to be able to zoom in a continuous fashion from fit view to whatever, instead of chunking bigger, smaller, then bigger again in multiples.

So just change the order of the Cmd-Alt-= and Cmd-Alt- zooming? Ctrl-Opt-= and Ctrl-Opt-- in windows speak.

I think he wants continuous percentages instead of 1:4, 1:3, 1:2, 1:1, 2:1, 3:1, etc.

I'm for that, and have been requesting it since Beta 3 before LR 1.0.

Right - there are two aspects:

1. present zooming gets bigger, then smaller, then bigger again (e.g. zoom slider).
2. present zooming is in multiples (zooms in steps).

I'd like to see both things changed:
1. one direction for bigger, the other for smaller.
2. smooth/continuous by percentage.

If just the first thing was amended, it would be a welcome improvement, but I'd like to see the second thing changed too.

With the new mega-pixel rich cameras this is becoming more and more important.

There should be settings between 1:1 and 1:2 - most important would be 1:414 to show the image at 1/2 the side width.

Even better would another adaptive zoom mode (similar to the current fit and fill) which fits the image in a configurable rectangle, say 5000*5000 pixel.

This would be extremely important for image collection which are using different resolutions, but should be printed at a certain output size. 1:1 and 1:2 does not make sense here, since it depends on the input size. But I need to view tghe image at output size.

The easiest would be to make it possible to configure the "fit" mode to not just use the program window width but a certain, editable pixel width.

Compared to Photoshop, LR ́s zooming is just a big joke! I`d really like LR to do zooming and panning like PS!
