Hi,
I am using Lightroom 5 and have problems reading video files. My catalog contains mov files from Canon 5D3 and Nikon1 V2.
When trying to read movies I frequently have video freezing: image from video do not chane on screen but sound is playing.
Also I see that dynamiclinkmediaserver.exe almosr saturate my processor (i7 on Win8) when video image freeze.
This bug is very disturbing my video files workflow.
Any hint for a workaroud about this bug is welcome.
Thanks for your help.

I have this problem too, on two different Macs. I get 700%+ CPU utilization after scanning through 5 or 10 videos or so, and eventually have to kill dynamiclinkmediaserver and restart Lightroom. After browsing videos a little more, it happens again, every time. These are both nearly new fully configured Macs (1 iMac and on Macbook Pro) with 32GB and 16GB RAM respectively.

I have googled for this problem, and see that it occurs both on Windows and the Mac, and goes back to Lightroom 4. I have been trying to get Adobe's attention on it, but after hours on chat and the phone, I have gotten nowhere.

Don't think just video related, but since switching from the 5D mk1 to the 6D, Lightroom 5 has gone from an app I can just leave running for weeks on end, to an app that needs quitting when not in use so I know it's not going to melt the CPU in my Mac. Dynamiclinkmediaserver is always the culprit running 600-700% CPU on my 2012 i7 Mini.

me too. Anytime I have video files on my SD card or inside a folder I'm importing it freezes. I have to move all video files out of the folder in the finder, force quit lightroom 5, sometimes it won't even work unless i restart my computer! SO ANNOYED! I have Nikon imports, Fuji, iphone & Canon - and no matter the video sorce, same problem.
