I'd like to be able to use the mouse scroll wheel to go through images in the develop module (just as I can in the library module)

YES. Please. It's driving me insane. My editing is mainly crop-move-on and having to move from my mouse to the keyboard for next - such a stupidly small thing - massively impacts my workflow.

yes, I want to go through and crop a lot of images, and using the left and right keys is not fast enough when there are a number of images I don't want to crop in between ones I do want to crop.

A possible workaround:

My Logitech mouse has a scroll-wheel that has side-to-side movement as well as up/down scroll. Normally I don't use that particular function so as a test I've just assigned the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Right to the "Right Scroll" function, which now allows me to scroll forward through the images in Lightroom when the Crop tool is active. I expect assigned Ctrl+Left to the "Left Scroll" mouse function would let me move in the reverse direction.
