Collection synching / Lightroom Mobile is a great addition to Lightroom 5.4. Please extend this functionality to Smart Collections as well.

We need this. Really, really need this. Please... Has there been any progress at Adobe in this direction?

Trying to manually manage standard collections with their smart analogs is ridiculous. Finding things quickly on your phone when in a meeting or social situation is essential. No one has their laptop with them all the time to search for an image. The functionality should also extend to syncing folders as well, again without having to maintain a separate collection for the contents of what you had in each folder to begin with.

The ability to *create* a smart collection on mobile would be icing on the cake and I think would solidify Lightroom as the perfect tool for the modern professional.

Even with iCloud you can at least do a text search that looks at keywords, and we Lightroom users are left without any mobile ability to harness the power of all the metadata we've created.

And yes, I understand that creating a smart collection on mobile would potentially result in some images from the catalog not displaying because they weren't already in the Creative Cloud. And yes, if the user changes something within the app that ends up excluding an image it might not be immediately accessible again from the cloud.

Please look past these minor considerations and give us the major functionality we need to do business efficiently. Apple has dumbed the whole process down so far as to be unmanageable. Those of us using Adobe products are well aware of what we're doing and need professional tools to present our work. Agreed?

Recently needed to make a choice on renewing my subscription. Lack of Smart Collection sync is a real issue. As an amateur photographer, primarily want mobile collections to reflect my smart collections and to be available for off line access.

Lightroom mobile has made some nice enhancements in layout / simplicity of operation. When travelling on holidays the functionality is great. However, this part of the functionality does not justify the annual cost.

Close to cancelling subscription and going back to a perpetual copy of Lightroom as this is still a good platform for cataloging / image correction. Given functionality I used, would not need to upgrade for a number of years. For mobile access Looked at Mylio as this provided an extremely slick mechanism for keeping devices at home all in sync using wifi "watching" smart collections. Clearly provides really quick method of syncing full quality photos from iPad to PC over home wifi after a holiday. Selectively syncing quality required for each device. Mylio is still not quite there yet with a few limitations.

My smart collections are also automatically loaded on one drive. Again, If I'd found some simpler iOS software allowing off line access would have not renewed subscription.

I don't mind paying for a service. Adobe need to realise there are arange of different users and for some just having their "smart collections" available on all devices is where the value exists.

I'll be reviewing options in 12 months time if capability does not exist.

Smart collection syncing would be fantastic. Please consider adding this, if even read only on mobile until the complexities are worked out.

I would like to enhance this feature request by the ability to sync also collection sets. It is frustrating that you cannot sync a set of several hundreds of collections to an iPad without keeping a subfolder structure regardless if you organize it with smart collections or collections sets.

Please add this feature as soon a possible!!!!

I was so surprised to see that smart collections were not syncable. I can find no reason for this. Please implement it, Adobe - it would be SO useful. Lightroom mobile and syncing seems only half-baked without this.

I really need smart collections synced to my iPad Pro.  I just don't have the memory to sync my complete collections.

Two years later, and Adobe still know best!

Surprised this is still not supported. Apple has implemented a "recently deleted" collection that handles accidents very elegantly. A "recently removed" smart collection on Mobile is all you need.

Adobe recommand to have one catalog and use smart collections BUT you can only sync manually handled collections from only one catalog.
Lightroom mobile still completely useless from my point of view without this feature... C'mon guys, hurry a little bit for that feature, 2 years from the first request...

Bit late to the party but must say I am disappointed to find out, after finally going for LR CC, that the mobile sync is just marketing hype. I could't get my collections to sync and after losing an hour over it I found out the well hidden fact that smart collections cannot be synced. Because this was not clear from all the "tutorials" and I only have smart collections I lost a lot of time on this. Not amused.

Count me in. No valid reason this can't be done. I'm guessing Adobe doesn't want to allocate resources to Lightroom / Lightroom mobile.

It's astounding that two years later, LR Mobile still can't use smart collections. I use smart collections for all my professional work, so leaving smart collections out makes Lightroom Mobile worthless to me. The value added by LR Mobile is less than the value of the additional work it would take to create and update redundant, non-smart collections.

Freezing Smart Collections:  I'm not sure whether anyone has suggested this already but why not have Lightroom Mobile (and Web) just treat Smart Collections like manual collections, i.e., the selection criteria for the Smart Collection should only operate on the desktop to select the photos for sync to the cloud and mobile.  If the pick flag is one selection criterion and it is removed in Lrm, then the photo would not disappear from the collection until next time the desktop sync'ed.   There would probably have to be a block on moving photos in and out of such "frozen smart collections" on Web and Lrm.

Really surprised this feature is still not implemented. Hope it will be in a near future. For the rest, I LOVE Lightroom Mobile :-)

I think the first thing to do is to bad rate the mobile applications, Adobe will be probably be more concerned by public comments and rate than user satisfaction message here...

Yea this needs to be a thing. I basically only have smart collections based on flags and keywords. LR Mobile is useless to me without this.

I use Smart collection because of their obvious practical & flexible structure. What's the point of having the feature, allowing regular collections to sync with mobile, but Not having Smart Collections sync with mobile. It's like restricting one to eat only 1 type of lollipop..

Would also love to see Smart Collections on mobile. I know this must be difficult b/c iCloud Photo Library doesn't do Smart Album syncing either, but would love to know more about why this feature isn't available on mobile.

I make a lot of use of keywords and metadata, and I'd love to see Lightroom Mobile take advantage of the Smart Collections I've made on the Mac.

Jumped onto Lightroom Mobile today for the first time, while being a Lightroom CC user since years.
I'm thrilled by the addition of RAW DNG capture in Lightroom Mobile on my iPhone 6s Plus (which is why I started digging and testing the app) but the unavailability of syncing Smart Collections through Lightroom Mobile is a huge enthousiast killer.
Adobe, please add this functionality, people seem to be requesting this for years.

As a new LR user, after learning how to sync with mobile devices I was very startled to find that smart collections are not included in this technology. A brief read-through of the comments shows that there are some problems, but I urge you Adobe to make some choices and get up some version of sync for smart collections. It is really an essential feature.
