At present, a plugin can only set the stack position when adding a photo to the catalog. I would also like to be able to alter stack-position after the fact, for a variety of reasons, including plugin synchronization of proprietary xmp-like info, i.e. if plugin has saved proprietary xmp-like file, which includes stack position, that info can be applied to the catalog by plugin, including stack-position.

I've accomplished the goal in some plugins, by using keystroke emission (via auto-hotkey and/or applescript), but such technique is problematic in some cases - hopefully the SDK/API would just work...

Bonus idea: methods for creating and deleting stacks too (and removing item from stack, or adding item to stack).

In other words - complete stack "maintenance" functions.

Personally, I'd like to see collection stacks simply mirror folder stacks, but if it's too late for that, then stack methods should support collection stacking as well as folder stacking.
