Some plugins are crippled without the ability to delete photos from catalog.

Also:

- Ability to rename/move photos
- Ability to delete folders from catalog.

I've been playing with the Lightroom SDK and I'm trying to move files within Lightroom.
I can use the SDK to create a folder and move the file into it but Lightroom does not know the file has moved.
Is there a way to tell Lightroom the files has moved using the SDK?

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Lightroom SDK Feature Request - Moving Files on Disk.

Would really like to make a plugin to allow me to move files around and arrange them based on some criteria that I have. I think the following APIs would be enough:

LrFileSystem.CreateFolder(path)
LrFileSystem.MoveAsset(src, dest)
LrFileSystem.CopyAsset(src, dest)

The API is so simple and straightforward to use that I'd love to take advantage of it so that I can clean up my library without losing my existing changes.

Thanks!

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Lightroom Classic: moving photo with LR SDK API.

I see, there is no possibility to move a photo within LR catalog to another location.
The LrFileUtils.move method is moving the photo physically to another folder but not updating the LR catalog.
Found also some dicussions in forum, there is now way. Only to export and import, but here my findings was, I will loose all settings on photo.
