Lightroom says it can't read files, when what it means is it can't write them!

Lazy programming - using a generic error message - saved some development time, but what a waste of your customer's time though!

When you get a message saying that Lightroom can't read your files to import them, of course you check the card reader, try another card, check your preferences.... try a card from a different camera... Then you find that the files can be read ok on another computer. Eventually after googling for similar problems, you are led to check your destination folder - and find that the hard drive is full! A frustrating half day chasing this one down...

So come on Adobe, how about using an error message that says 'sorry these files can't be imported because the target destination can't be written to' - at least that would send us scurrying off in the right direction!
