Lightroom renders JPEG file as TIFF file which leads to an invalid JPEG marker inside Photoshop

I am using an older version of Photoshop which is not having the ACR 7.1 like Lightroom. So i am using to open the files rendered by Lightroom. I have prepared the second external editor same as Photoshop but using JPEG as file format. If i render the file Lightroom is creating the JPEG first and is then opening it in Photoshop. But Photoshop is not able to open it because of an invalid JPEG marker. If i rename the file to TIFF Photoshop is able to open.
So i think that Lightroom is rendering it as a TIFF file but uses the file extension JPEG.
Please change the file rendering engine to JPEG so Photoshop is able to open the file.
