Lightroom: Provide an control/option to force group icons to appear on map in Map module

Situation is this: I have a set of photos I've taken at a location that I've previously geotagged. I import the photos, then switch to the Map module. What I want to do now is navigate the map to the location where I know I have previously added photos to a geotag group and add my just imported photos to the group by simply selecting, clicking and dragging them on to the group icon. Unfortunately, the geotag group icon only appears if one or more currently selected photos belong to the group. Since none of my just imported photos belong to the group (in fact, that's what I'm trying to do), the icon doesn't appear. Now I'm forced to go find one or more photos that are members of the target geotag group, select it/them, go back to finding my imported photos, etc. Clumsy at best, mighty frustrating at worst.

I'd like a control/option that would permit me to force the geotag group icons to appear on the map in the Map module, even if my current selection doesn't include any photos belonging to that group. One should be able to toggle this on and off I suppose, although I'm not sure it doesn't make sense to have this always be enabled

I have no need or desire to create a Saved Location for all of the geotag location groups I have. Requiring me to add a Saved Location to enable this capability only makes me perform extra steps and create additional objects to manage that I don't need or want.
