Lightroom: Option to de-link connection between file and previous print settings

When printing using LR3 and my Epson 3800 printer, often I wish to make a print from a file I have previously printed.
The problem: I'm printing from LR3, and today I'm using matte paper. If the file has been previously printed using glossy paper, when I freshly select that file in the Library, Develop, or Print module, the Epson 3800 printer will begin an unstoppable, uncalled-for black ink change. $$$$$$, as you know.
If LR contained a control or preference to sever or delink the the file from it's previously used print settings, and force the print module to stay fixed on it's current settings(Glossy or Matte, Perceptual or Relative, etc), I could eliminate what could what will eventually add up to hundreds and hundreds of dollars worth of Lightroom-triggered, undesired black ink changes.
After all, I'm interested in the way I'm making prints today, not how I did it a year ago.
