OK- been bugging me a Long time- in Develop mode, move cursor down to lower left to "Copy" or "Paste" settings- or in Print Module- go to click on "Print" (or "Print One" which I don't use"- inVARIABLY- the cursor shoots past the button I am aiming for- and the filmstrip pops up- Hate it- I don't WANT the filmstrip.
How about:- only have the filmstrip popup if the cursor slides down in the area at the bottom that does NOT contain either of the two buttons on the left side or the right side of the screen?? And perhaps limit this behavior to the appropriate module? Hmm?? PLEASE??
(Yes- if you click on the triangle in the middle of the filmstrip you can choose "Manual, Auto Hide, Auto Hide & Show)", but I still would appreciate this minor interface change)
Many thanks for any consideration...

I keep side/bottom panels in manual mode to keep the roll-past-n-over pop-up from happening. (Hint: right/cmd-click)

Would you be happy with a keyboard-only control mode for panels?

I fully see the motivation for yor request but I think a fix should go all the way, not just address a few problematic areas.

Similar to Rob's answer, I use Auto-Hide for most of the panels. You have to click them to pop them open, but they disappear automagically when you're done.
