I have the same problem. I don't use a MAC, iPad, or CC and cannot use and do not want the Mobile app but I get this "Getting Started with LR Mobile" menu option in the identity plate area. I don't want to remove the identity plate but just clear out the very annoying "Getting Started" line that appears every time I launch. I cannot believe Adobe did this.

Not a fan of whatever Lightroom Mobile is either. Pop-ups are mildly annoying every time I open a new catalog. I click the x to close the pop-up and get a system message about one catalog being synced at a time when I never actively synced a catalog to begin with.
Great that Adobe is developing silly new features for professional applications but maybe a clear way to opt-out is needed for those who could care less.

Why do I have to TURN IT OFF every time, and then watch it run around my screen?

This is really bad - what bonehead came up with this 'feature'?
