Details:
Lightroom 5.5 on Mac OS 10.9, both fully updated.
Hardware is an iMac with 32G ram and lots of CPU.
I've got 8 collections set to sync from Lightroom and some are syncing partially, some not at all.
On the desktop the status says "waiting for connection". I've seen in other forum posts that this may not be 100% true (ie: the label may not be an accurate representation of what's going on), but the end result is the images aren't syncing or updating.
I got frustrated with this last night and hit the 'delete all data' button and re-checked the collections (not sure if it matters, but most of the collections are of DNG files with (as far as I know), smart previews generated). The collections partially synced, but seemed to stall and fail.
Additional information:
I did have the PhotoSmith plugin enabled, but saw in another forum that this might cause conflicts, so I deleted all the publish collections and deleted the plugin completely and restarted, but no change.
I also have the Mosaic Archive (the new version) plugin installed and a few publish collections. Disabling the plugin didn't seem to make any change either.

Could you try a delete data again. Quit Lr desktop, and the delete the sync.lrdata file.
You can find theĀ sync.lrdata file here:
On Mac it's at /Users/<user>/Library/Caches/Adobe/Lightroom/Sync Data/Sync.lrdata
On Win it would be at C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Adobe\Lightroom\Caches\Sync Data\Sync.lrdata
Restart Lr desktop and enable the collections for sync but keep the "iPhone Photos" collection disabled for now.
In case the collections-sync successfully finished, trigger a new import on your iPhone to have your iPhone photos synced as well.
When
you add new photos to your mobile device, Lr mobile needs to import the
photos locally and send previews+metadata to the back-end. It could be
that some of this data was not send and due to this Lr desktop sync
started to hang.
let me know how it's working

Hey Guido. I did as you asked (stop LR, delete the sync.lrdata file, restart LR). The collections I had selected to sync were still checked (I did uncheck and re-check one of them to see if that would do anything), but the status bar still says "waiting for connection" and the same images that were synced to lr.adobe.com and on my iPhone are there, but no more.
Did you want me to click the 'delete all data' in the preferences before I stop/delete lightroom, or is deleting the sync.lrdata file doing that?
I don't know if it's related, but I looked in Console.app and there are constant messages (about 1 a second) saying 'bad sqlite return code: 1. Info: no such column: z"
Here's a screenshot:

Not sure if that helps at all.

Minor update: I did the 'delete all data' and then repeated deleting the sync data file, and while the label still says waiting for connection, images are syncing (I think, at least one of the collections has gone from 13 to 16 images when viewed on lr.adobe.com). I'll wait a bit to see if the rest of the collections fill in and update themselves or not. No more console errors from sqlite anymore as well at least.

Guido, I too man having LR mobile sync options. As well as getting the 'awaiting connection' message for weeks now, and sync not working, at least with 5.6 the sync to iPad works (though still awaiting connection shows). I can't locate the path you describe on my iMac (mavericks), so can't find the file to delete. I guess I should be grateful sync is working at last, but it would be nice to have the product working properly. I have a log I can send if that would help? Thank you.

Library is hidden by default on Mac in your version. In Finder click on Go and hold down the Option key and Library should appear in the list temporarily so you can locate the path that Guido references.

Have you tried to, quit Lr Desktop, re-sign-in via the Creative Cloud app and restart Lr Desktop afterwards. - Guido

Good news. And can you please sync smart collections? It's a pain to be forced to create manual ones. David

Hi Sharon, could you try to re-sign-in via the Creative Cloud app. So quit Lr Desktop, re-sign-in and start LrD afterwards.
Let me know if that helps.

I am having the same problem. I have turned off sync for iPhone etc., closed LR, deleted the Sync.lrdata file, signed out and back into Creative Cloud and opened LR from the apps tab in Creative Cloud. Nothing worked. I am using a Windows 8 laptop, an iPhone and an iPad, and LR CC 2015. Everything is up to date. Can you help?
Thanks

When you open up for example Photoshop do have access to the Creative Cloud libraries. Just asking to understand whether it's a CC-login issue you're facing
If so could you try to run the steps from here...

Solution 3 helped for some users.

I have full access to my libraries in Photoshop and don't seem to have any CC log in issues. Thanks!
