Lightroom shows all my users folders such as app data, etc other than my pictures folder. When I remove these folders, they just pop right back up. How do I get Lightroom to stop listing every folder on my computer?

Check your Auto Import settings under File / Auto Import / Auto Import Settings and make sure you don't have anything strange in there.

Also where is LR listing these folders: as a Source when you do an Import in the Folders panel at the left of Library?

Did you do an Add Parent Folder of your Pictures folder so all its peers are being listed?

Can you show us a screenshot of where you see these folders?

Hi, Thanks for answering. I've attached screen shots of the folders, auto import settings, and a sample import. No, I don't remember adding Parent folder. Any help is very appreciated.

Delete your preferences file and see if things work ok after that. The location of the Preferences file can be found here:

It looks like Users and everything under it is getting imported, somehow.

What event or action happen after you Remove these folders, that makes them reappear?

Deleted preferences file, but it did not help. I'm trying to remove them again and see what happens again but in the past, they just reappear on new launch.

Preferences are supposed to reappear on new launch - it's just they reappear as fresh preferences instead of the possibly corrupted previous preferences.

I agree with Steve, it looks like you've imported all of the photos within Users, but I know that you said that in your original post that when you delete them, they reappear again. Can you take us through your exact steps between deleting those folders from the Folders panel and them magically reappearing?

She isn't saying that the preferences reappear at launch, I think she's saying the folders reappear after removing them.

Yes, it would be nice to understand the details of what happens that leads to the folders reappearing.

Ok, I tried removing all the users folder and sub-folders all in one swoop, re-launched and they began loading again. This happened twice. I noticed there were folders which included Bridge Cache. I went to Bridge preferences and unchecked "Keep 100% previews in Cache", and "Automatically Export Cache to Folders When Possible" and Purged the Cache. I have no idea how any of these actions affect Bridge or LR. When I went back to LR, all those photos were missing, but the folders were still there. Next I selected the folders in groups and removed them. Then I synchronized the remaining folders I wanted: Desktop and Pictures. Shut down LR. Restarted PC. Re-launched LR and all is well. I have no idea what I did "Right", but the folders are gone. Should I reset Bridge preferences back to default?

LR seems to be working just fine now. Not sure what I did though. Thanks for writing.
