Lightroom: "Jump to" on side panels

I often work with multiple sections open on the side panels. This gets lengthy and navigating them with the slider is a pain.

A way to jump to a specific section with a single mouse click would be a big improvement.

One way to do this would be to have Icons above the command buttons at the bottom of the panel. There'd be one icon per panel section, and clicking on it would jump to that section on the panel.

I don't really see how that's any different than solo mode is now.

Solo mode means that only one section is open at a time. As stated in the FR, "I often work with multiple sections open".

With a crop dialogue and most of the sections in the right panel of the Develop module open, for example, this request would quicken navigation when I want to work in a specific section, but still allow scrolling to quickly scan settings in multiple open sections.

Shift-click was the hot tip that converted me from a scroller to a solo-er.

Also, in case you did not know, Ctrl-{1-8} on keyboard (probably Cmd on Mac) will take you straight to section of interest, if you can memorize the number/section correspondence. Would it help if shift-ctrl-{1-8} behaved same as shift-click (i.e. opened specified section without closing any)?

Thanks for the tip. I still think a one-click visual way to do this would be easier to use, but this is useful until that happens. The hot-key would be easier to use if the sections were labelled with their hot-key #.

Ctrl-{1-8}, by the way, almost does what I want if you're not in solo mode. If the section is not visible, it takes you there, and expands the section if it isn't already, which is perfect. If the section is visible, however, it takes you there but also toggles it between contracted/expanded. So, yes, using the shift key or having an option to have it always work like it does for hidden sections would be workable.

1 year ago I would have agreed with this FR/Idea whole-heartedly, but I've gotten used to shift-click/solo-mode, which is not too bad, and conserves UI real-estate. I like your ideas for improvement though. Maybe display section # as soon as user presses Ctrl/Cmd key, kinda like how is done for Alt/Option key now(?) Another Idea was submitted that may help in this regard - to include the retouch tools in the solo-mode handling, since having a brush open takes a lot of space in the panel:

If you Shift-click on panels in Solo Mode, you can have multiple panels open.

That said, I can still see a use for it particularly when working on low resolution monitors.
