There seems to be an issue with the import dialogue in Lightroom 5 (using 5.2 currently). On occasion, but not always, when try to import from a cf card, LR does not refresh the import screen (ie it does not recognize that I have loaded a new card, and continues to show data from the previous card). I have checked when this is occuring, and the card reader is functioning properly, as I can see the card in windows explorer, and view the files in bridge. This has caused a rather serious issue for me in that Lightroom seems to have shown me that a card was empty, when it fact it was not. I then formatted and re-used the card, deleting some client photos in the process. I am using Windows 7 professional, lightroom 5.2, and san disk cf cards.

The only way I have been able to reproduce this problem is when I have the import dialog open, showing images from Card A, then I pull the card out of the card reader without first ejecting it via the Operating System, then inserting Card B. In that circumstance the photos from Card A remain displayed in the Import window (though any attempt to import them fails as they are no longer available).

If that's what you are doing, the correct procedure is to properly eject the first card before inserting the second card. It would probably be safer if you also cancelled out of the Import process until the second card was inserted.

Of course, if that isn't what is happening, you'll need to provide step-by-step details of your process so that we can try to figure out what's happening.
