Lightroom: Give us the option to choose oval shapes for spot removal

It's amazing to me how often LR's spot removal tool chooses an absolutely wrong source to patch the offending spot, but at least we can press H to reveal the source and the fix, and easily change the location and size of either. There must be a better way though. Currently it's fine for removing small pimples or dust spots, but every shape that isn't round (such as an oily shiny streak on a face) is challenging to fix. So here's a thought: allow users to manipulate the shape of the spot into an oval (by holding down a modifier key). By holding down, say, the shift key while dragging the edge of a spot removal circle (and allowing us to tilt the resulting oval), spot removal would become much more useful.

The other annoyance about the spot removal in LR is that it becomes very hard (sometimes impossible) to select the space between existing spot-healing circles that are close together. You try to click on an additional area and end up selecting an existing patch instead. Grr. Can someone please come up with a solution for this?
