Lightroom: Freezes on startup

My lightroom will not open. It hasn't for several days now. I've tried deleting the .plist and it's concurrent lock file from my preferences folder and still it won't open. I've tried creating a new catalog and I still get deadlocked at startup. I can't get past the splash screen. Please help!

Lightroom 6, Windows 10 Professional 64-bit. Had to disable hardware acceleration (even though the laptop has NO video card - just Intel HD graphics). ASUS model X200MA. Now I have no HD graphics for any apps but LR does get past the splash screen and is usable. Intel blames ASUS, ASUS blames Intel. LR SHOULD ask about hw accel BEFORE loading the splashscreen!

That works! Only issue now is I need my serial # which I no longer have as it was sent to me in an e-mail when I did digital download. Any suggestions for retrieving that?
