Lightroom Feature Request: Recent Files List

Having "Open Recent..." is helpful for multiple catalogues, but I would find "Open Recent File..." even more helpful, or,more precisely, "Go to Recent File..." and keep the last 20 or so.
I realise this is possible by navigating to a Smart Collection of "Recently Modified", but that would mean leaving the state/catalogue I am currently in. I would rather be able to go to "File > Go to Recent File..." and directly selecting the recent file I wish to go to.

There's a recent folders list on the top-left of the filmstrip. A recent file thing is different than a recently-edited-file thing.

You can click on the DOWN arrow after the filename above your filmstrip, and it will show you list of recent folder. You can make folder as favorite too. I don't know if this is what you looking for?

Something to consider in the mean time: sort by edit-time.
