Lightroom: Edit Capture Time feature is missing an essential capability

Lightroom's Edit Capture Time feature lets me shift capture times by +/- 24 hours (in integer amounts), or set all photos to specific time, but I recently had to use an external tool to achieve what I needed.

A not-so-uncommon use case is the need to shift capture times by years, months, days, and minutes. I recently shot several hundred photos on a camera that never had the date/time set, and I wanted to preserve the time sequence. Shifting the capture times by hours at a time isn't practical, because all the images were time stamped to 2009.

I often geocode photos to the GPX file from an external GPS after the fact, so getting the time correct to the nearest minute is important.

I think this is already possible:

Select all photos needing the change
Metadata>Edit Capture Time
Choose: Adjust to a Specified Date or Time
Set the Time Difference

All photos will be updated by shifting the time by the amount of the time differential entered - not to the specified time entered.

As long as you have some kind of valid date to begin with, it will work.
