grid view - that's the only view the '-/+' keys should affect (thumbnail size-wise).

Summary: the keyboard shortcut to the grid-vew thumbnail (size) slider is broken.

Well Rob, it's not broken on my computer. Suggest you try moving the Preference file/s and having another attempt.

Keyboard: Microsoft Natural Ergonomic 4000, v1.0 - latest driver from MS.

-/+ keys working as expected in all other apps tried, including text editor and calculator accessory.

reference to video of how it should work (hint: 40 seconds in): http://tv.adobe.com/watch/adobe-evang...

Deleting preferences did not help.

Did you check/validate on win7/64?, or another OS?

I use Macs Rob, sorry I missed that!!
Let's see if anyone else has the issue - although I haven't heard of it so I would suggest it may well be in your combination of hardware/software.

Strictly speaking, it's the '=' key that increases the thumbnail size, i.e., the '+' key but without pressing shift.

Are you pressing 'Shift'?

Nice point there TK - of course I used the = in my test on Mac.

It's good to leave mistakes for others to learn from rather than having more posts of the same operator error.

I 'spose, but for the record: the documentation is clear about it (my mistake originated from watching (hearing) Julieanne Kost's video about selecting photos - referenced above).

Might be better to mark it as "Not a problem". In this case it (and the solution) can still be found by someone having the same problem.

As commented on page containing Julieanne Kost's tutorial video:

- its not -/+ keys to shrink/enlarge thumbnails (its -/=)

Distinction is especially significant if its your inclination to reach for the numeric keypad for those keys.
