Lightroom crashes when I select slideshow

I just entered pages of information before being sent off to "sign in"...

What is up with you people? The page said I would be brought back here after signing in. It didn't say that all my text woudl be lost in the process.

Get a clue people!

I have several major issues with ligthroom, photoshop and camera raw. I have posted messages on the forums, but I can't find the messages or any replies to them... How do I find out what the problem is with that, other than by posting another message into the black hole???

Lightroom crashes every time I select slideshow. This applies to 5.2 and 5.3.

When I send a raw file from LR to PS, it doesn't open in camera raw. It opens directly in PS itself. According to one of the books I have, PS is not able to edit raw files directly... So, what is it doing? Why do I not get the image in camera raw - I do have the latest upgrade.

I imported a bunch of raw files, and edited them within LR. When I export the result as jpegs, the pictures look nothing like the edited raw files I exported. The jpegs are washed out and pale.

These are just 3 of the issues I have been having. Why can I not get some tech support? After several weeks of working with LR, the program announced that I needed to enter a serial number and register the program. I spent 30 minutes in the queue for chat on your website. Then, I get a rep who checks out my account and decides 10 minutes later that it is a technical issue, and needs to be forwarded to another rep. I *told* him up front it was a tech question. The 2nd rep took another 10 minutes to check out my account, then had me copy him my hosts file - which has every single line commented out. After another lengthy pause, he told me that it looks ok, and that I should call back again if the problem recurrs. So, I spent almost an hour online with your people, to be told "it looks ok"

Why is there no tech support email address? I have never worked with any significant software package which did not have email access to tech support. I don't need a phone number, but I don't need to be sitting online while someone tries to solve the problem.

I have just passed the 30 days of my membership to this 'plan', and I am still trying to get the software to work as advertised. Now, you say I am locked in for at least 6 months? I would love to see *that* play out in court!

You need to sort out some decent access to tech support, or you can kiss my money goodbye.

Re Crashes-Not enough info. What error message? Blue Screen? Have you tried trashing your preference files? Reinstalling? Checked that your System/Drivers are up-to-date. http://www.lightroomforums.net/showth...

Re Opening in Camera Raw-This would be redundant. LR and Camera Raw have the same engine. It is like saying, I want to edit in Lightroom and then edit again in Lightroom and then open in PS. Use the Camera Raw filter in the Filters menu if you must 're-access" the raw development controls.

Re JPEG export: Choose sRGB instead of Adobe RGB as the profile.

re: Tech support. This is a correct place to pose questions. The User-to-User forum is as well. http://forums.adobe.com/community/lig... Break your topics into discreet single issues if you want to get faster and more appropriate help.

None of your 3 issues are related to one another and putting them into a single email makes it difficult to answer you.

I put these into a single message because I had been trying for several hours to get *any* kind of message through to *anyone*. If this is a viable method of access, I will keep them separate from now on.

The lightroom crash: the screen greys out, and I get a windows message saying that a problem caused to program to stop working. I will try to attach a screenshot here.

I don't understand what preferences files I should trash... I have reinstalled, when upgrading from 5.2 to 5.3. The behaviour is the same. I have no idea what system drivers would cause this, not knowing exactly what the program is trying to do.

Camera Raw: When I first installed the LR + PS pair, if I opened a RAW file in PS from within LR, it would open in Camera Raw. The people on the forum I frequent say that this is normal. Now, it opens directly in PS itself. I can call Camera Raw from there, but it used to open automatically, and this is what I have seen in several training videos.

I have tried posting questions to the user forums, but the messages have disappeared - or at least, I can't find them. So, I have no idea if there are any replies or not. I tried searching for my name or email address, but no messages are found. I cannot remember exactly what wording I used in the messages, so I cannot search on that.

Thank you *very* much for the response... I have been feeling extremely ignored 'out here'.

Your first post said "have you tried trashing your preferences files?"

That is hardly instructions! What preferences files? Where are they? I have no idea what this means...
