I'm using Lightroom 5 and I would like to give you an Idea to reduce CPU usage while exporting jpeg files. It is totally unnecessary to stress the CPU so much while saving. It doesn't matter if will take a little bit longer the process. I'm using Intel core i7 CPU and this is the only time I have ever seen it to goes up than 80 degrees... For me it is pointless. Hopefully you will fix that in newer versions of lightroom.

You'd be amazed how many people would say exactly the opposite - they want exporting to be faster and use all of the computer's resources.

OK Great! Everybody wants exporting to be faster, but on what price?! How many of those people do you think are using the best PC configuration? I have also a laptop and during the export you can't do anything on it... At least give the user an option somewhere in the preference!

Can you tell us the spec of your machine please? And if you watch the process monitor, is LR maxing out the machine or something else?

The reason I ask is LR is currently designed NOT to max out the processor, so you can carry on working, which is most people's reason for complaint. It'll only usually max it out if you run multiple tasks concurrently.

Motherboard: Asus P8Z77 M Pro
CPU: Intel core i7-3770
Graphic card: AMD Radeon HD7700
RAM: 16GB Corsair
HDD: SSD 180GB Kingston-for OS + 2TB aditional HDD

Lightroom cache folder is located at the second dvrive (the one with 2TB space) and it is set to 25GB size. (The default was 1gb)
I'll make screenshot later with Task manager and temperature monitor on, to see how lightroom behave.
