Lightroom: Add "print made" to filters and smart collections

I'm frustrated that I can't use the power of smart collections to identify images that I've printed (i.e. have at least one "print made" entry in the develop history), and would like to request it's added to a future version of lightroom. The choices for the criterion could be true or false, and date/time selections could also be included.

My current workaround is to add a keyword to the image when I print, but I don't always remember to do that and as the information is all there in the catalogue it seems a shame it can't be used in a smart collection.

This would be a really useful capability for smart collections, I hope it can be added to LR soon.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled LightRoom - Need to Identify which images have been printed by a search.

Lightroom - an ability to filter photographs by whether or not they have been printed. This appears in the History section but it appears impossible to search the History steps either from within LR or via a plug in. I am constantly wondering whether or not a particular image in a collection has already been printed. At present the only way to do this is to go through each one in sequence.

Ideally some way of differentiating in what way the image has been printed would be extremely useful - i.e. Printed at A4 size or Printed at A2 size. This may be wishful thinking but at least a searchable notes field in which one could make these points would be an improvement.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Please add a filter for Printed Images on Lightroom - Especially for Event Photog....

I (and a good number of colleague photographers) use Lightroom to do onsite prints at events. It is one of the best tools for this type of work.

However, since PRINTS are our main products, it would help hugely to have a feature to monitor/filter printed images and better still, number of prints per image.

In event photography, photographers work with Print Sales Assistants whose main duty is to print and sell the prints - this tool, if added would help in managing sales. There are hundreds of photographers, I am sure, who will agree with me that this will truly be a game-changer in their work-flows. Thanks.

Yes! Please incorporate at the very least a filter search option of printed or not.

As mentioned, deeper tools for checking what sizes/settings/amount of copies etc was used, would be wonderful. I could use an option for registrering which clients has gotten which prints. Would make print handling a _lot_ easier. Thanks in advance.

It can be done using a plugin from the late Rob Cole - SQLiteroom.

I have used it to create collections of images that I have printed. Not sure if anyone else has a plugin that does this currently?

Just done it again and it still works with LR 7.1. Then I add 'PRINT' as a keyword to the collection it produces. Must try and remember to add the keyword each time I print a new image!!!
