Lightroom: Add border at export (i.e. for devlopment to reduce cutoff)

Some companies cut off about 3% when developing a picture. This requires that one have to add a blank border around the image to avoid loss.

It would be great if Lightoom 5 gets the possibility to add a border to exported images. It would make sense to specify the width of the border at left and right, top and bottom sides as percentage or absoute pixel.

Does LR2 Mogrify from Photographers Toolbox not do what you need?

You could probably accomplish this by printing to JPEG in the Print Module.

Thanks - yes, the JPEG printing is a feature I should use more often.

However some margin in the export should benefit others, too. There are tools which can add a frame later, but they need recompression of the file.

BTW - according to real printing, surprisingly there is no obvious way to select a paper size for the template. Thats a problem since Letter and A4 cannot easily be converted.

You could also use a post processing action in LR, using Photoshop actions to add a canvas to your exported files (if you have PS installed)
