Lightroom: Ability to adjust the date & time on import instead of afterwards

Lightroom: I would like more options on the import options to be able to adjust the date & time on import instead of doing it after all images have been imported. If I know all my images are out by x hours after a holiday, I'd like to adjust that during the import process.

Really? Brilliant. I'll take a look now, thanks!!
On that note - do you know if you can also apply a crop on import? (so that all imported photos are auto cropped at 16:9 for example)

Setting is called 'UTC Offset' (in "Advanced" section).

If you need help using plugin, please contact me outside the forum - thanks.

@2014-04-22: auto-crop not supported.

But thanks for the idea - would you always want the crop centered?
Would you ever want it shrunken (or always cropped at max size)?

Check back and it may be implemented ;-).

The way I process my photos is to adjust the date&time according to the timezone I've just come from, to leave as is if I've remembered to adjust my camera date&time.

Then I select all my photos, and in the Library Mode under Quick Develop I select Crop Ratio and crop them all to 16:9. This centre crops them all and then afterwards I go back and move the cropped area to my liking, but find it easier to start with them all cropped.

If you can implement some sort of "crop on import", then my LR post-process wish list will be complete :)

I'm on Mac, which I'm guessing is a problem.

I just reviewed the code, and actually there is an undocumented method (Lr5 only) for reading metadata which may suffice. And who knows, Adobe may even document it come Lr6 ;-}. I'll try to remember to post back here if implemented, or you can check my website.

Brilliant, hopefully that'll work. If you think you may implement something like this, how often do you update the plugin? Would it be worth checking back in a week or two, or do you think further down the line? Just an idea of time really? For now I'll look at the UTC Offset options in the plugin...

I dunno if I'll do it, more less when, but if you install Ottomanic Importer (even if you don't use it) and enable auto-check for updates (top section in plugin manager), then you'll know as soon as it's released. There have been several requests for the feature though so don't be surprised if it gets done!

Thanks. Just installed it now and having a play around with it. Looking forward to the Crop feature if you are able to implement that at some point. Got auto-update checked, so will keep an eye on those. Thanks once again for your comments and responses.
