Lightroom 5 erratic behavior in Develop module - working pro

I'm a professional photographer using Lightroom for many years. I've been using LR 5.0 for two months. We are having some recurring issues and they don't resolve. I have tried an earlier suggestion of deleting the preferences file in Library and creating a fresh one. This did not help.

All issues occur in the develop module.
1. When adjusting exposure - sometimes the previous image will shift to the exposure of the one being worked on.
2. When I make adjustments on a group of images in a batch, the next image beyond the selected batch will also take on the new adjustments without being selected.
3. In crop mode in develop, when I use the "x" shortcut to change cropping to vertical, it will change but then not preserve the change when I move on. When I go back, the vertical crop will show again, but in library mode it may still show the full frame.
4. When using the temperature slider on a large job, the adjustment bogs down and is very slow to be responsive after a while.
5. The building of 1:1 previews seems slower than LR4, even when I divide the operation into 2 or 3 simultaneous operations rather than one.

I am thinking that I will go back to Lightroom 4 - will this work okay - to uninstall LR5, install LR4, and then "update" to LR4. Will it do this "update" back to LR4?

Also, is it worth uninstalling LR5 and reinstalling it first? Have others had some of these issues?

Thanks! Steve Horn
