My Lightroom 5 Brightness and Fill light sliders and buttons disappear and reappear all the time. I don't ever know how to get it back. Even with restarting the program. It just disappears. (I'm updated to the latest version.) I have posted this before but the way this forum is setup there is no easy way to find my previous posts. I have no easy way to find if there is a solution or response from Adobe. I wish Adobe would just email me or if there way to speak with someone.

They disappear when photos have been assigned the latest process version. They reappear when using legacy process version.

Check process version in camera calibration section (or notice the little lightning bolt under histogram..

You will see the Brightness and Fill Light sliders anytime an image was:

1. Imported with an older version of Lightroom (3.6 or older)
2. Deliberately changed back to an old process version (Via Camera Calibration panel in Develop.

You will not see the Brightness and Fill Light Sliders if the image was:

1. Imported using Lightroom 4.0 or later
2. Deliberately changed (read updated) to a newer process version (Via the Camera Calibration panel in Develop or by clicking the Lightning Bolt icon below the Historgram (Version 5) or the Exclamation point in the lower right of the workspaces (Version 4))

So, if you are seeing it appear and disappear that simply means you have a mixture of images processed in different versions and as you select them, Lightroom is displaying the matching controls.

The behavior you are seeing is normal and as-designed.
