Lightroom 5: Adding Photos to a Saved Book

I saved a book before it was done, figuring why take chances on a power failure. I selected the option to "Include Photos", which, unfortunately, meant only the photos I had included so far. Now, when I reopen the book to add more photos, none of the ones I haven't included yet are available on the filmstrip to be added. I can find no way to copy/paste or otherwise add the photos in the collection I created for the book to the book's filmstrip. There must be a way to accomplish this. Can someone clue me in? Many thanks (I've spent hours watching Julianne, Jerry Courvoirsier, reading Scott Kelby, etc., but no joy yet!)...

Switch back to the Library module, find the photos, and drag them onto the saved book that's stored in the Collections panel. Then they'll be available to add to the book.

That is what I was trying to do. Here are the steps I have used which had no success:
- Start in the collection in the library module that contains all the photos I want in the book
- CTRl-A to select all the photos shown in the filmstrip
- Click on one of the photos to drag the selected group to the saved book and:
-- All the rest of the collection is unselected, and,
-- nothing, not even the photo I've "dragged" is copied anywhere.

If I designate the book as the "target collection", then I can usually use the "B" shortcut to copy that single photo to the collection, but never more than one. What am I doing wrong?

It sounds like you're clicking on the border of the photo, rather than the thumbnail itself. Try following your steps above, but clicking and dragging from the thumbnail.

Hi Victoria - thanks again for your response . . . OHMYGOSH, you're correct. I was clicking on the "frame" rather than directly on the photo. Worked perfectly as soon as I clicked directly on the thumbnail. Well, live and learn, as the saying goes. Thanks for your patience and help.

hi Victoria
I followed the steps, and added the pic to the collection and to the saved book. Both show the modified quantity of photos after the addtion.
However, when I open the book module, the pic does not appear.
It appears only in the collection.
You said available to be added to the book. The question is How?
tks a lot for your help!!!

They should appear in the Filmstrip, ready for you to drag onto the pages of your choice.
