The Lightroom 5.2 Slideshow advance/previous arrows were not functioning in win 7. I understood a bug report had been issued to that effect. I just installed v. 5.6 and it has the same problem

Hmm, I just tried it on both Mac OS 10.9 and Windows 7 with LR 5.6, and the arrow keys don't work. Rob, are they still working for you?

Here's the original bug report:

Hi Don & John,

Make sure that in the Slideshow Module, you've designated one of your templates to be used for the Impromptu slideshow. If you haven't yet, then a default template will be used set to Automatic playback. Right click a template that has a Manual playback setting and choose: "Use for Impromptu Slideshow"

Also make sure that in that template, that Manual is selected for playback.

From there the impromptu slideshow should have functioning Arrow keys for advancing images.

Hope this helps,
Regards
Pete

Thanks Pete. But the issue people are complaining about is that the arrow keys no longer work when playing slideshows that have automatic advance (i.e. that are not Manual). They'd like the show to run automatically but be able to back up manually when a client sees an image they'd like to focus on. In the words of one of the posters from the other thread:

"This used to be a really useful feature and now when showing clients images in a slideshow its a real hassle having to stop the slideshow, go back and then restart. Takes time and more importantly breaks the flow of showing images to clients."

It's pretty basic functionality that other slideshow programs support.

Cross-referencing the 6 threads about this topic, dating back 4 years ago (I don't think the threads should be merged, since that would lose the replies and likes on each):

Hi there,

I just updated to the latest version (LR 5.7) and unfortunately the bug wasn't fix again!

Could you please!!! hurry up fixing this issue? Why does it take ages to solve this problem? It's known for over 7 months.

Thanks!

Lightroom 6 does not display images during play or preview. win 7 54 bit. Tech support was supposed to call me a week ago to investigate, and still no call.
