Lightroom: 5.4 issues

Issues in LR5.4

Develop- When Scrolling through presets the navigator window does not change the navigator window as you move through presets. You have to apply the preset, making the preview of no value

Develop- after edit in to Photoshop and saving back to LR, all subsequent exports to the print module also bring up the selected image in Photoshop after LR makes the print

Develop- when using adjustment brush, the Scroll wheel does not change brush size

In all views I use, I get stalls/freezes in the process for no apparent reason although it resumes if I wait, say one minute. PC works fine in other windows

I just bought a new computer and it had windows 8.1 also. I CANNOT apply any presets as when I tap on any of them - they do not open for any to BE selected. As well, my watermark no longer works no matter how many I make. Can anyone help PLEASE!!!

I have the same issue sometimes with the presets not updating in the navigator window. However, it's not all the time. Usually, selecting a preset in a different preset folder solves the problem for me.

I do have a lot of presets, though. Do you? Someone mentioned somewhere in regard to another performance issue that too many presets can cause problems.

My old laptop has over 100 presets + the original ones loaded from Lightroom itself... however, my new computer is not letting me open ANY of the Lightroom presets that come with the program. I haven't added any more (ones I have downloaded off the internet or paid for) ... because I can't even get the program ones to open. There "appears" to be a folder, but when I click - nothing happens ie no B&W no sepia, no other one that was included as the base presets. Very frustrating because I cannot get anyone from Adobe to help me!!! They just direct me to the get the "experts" to tell you .. and you are the first to reply to me.

Hi Charlene
I'm not an expert, but I would re-install LR itself as well as the presets. You could also look in the presets folder and see if you can open the preset files with Notepad - they may be corrupt.

Thanks Mike ... I upgraded the latest version again ... and lo and behold there it was working like it should. The watermark is still acting up, but I found a way around that ... so far!!!

Do these issues get reported to the Lightroom developers? It's not very clear where you need to report bugs and issues.

I posted some notes on the "experts" page and directly to Julianne Kost and got no response - so I doubt it!!! However, if there are "members" who have these problems hopefully it gets to the appropriate LR people

This is the right spot - they read but they don't always respond (too busy fixing stuff!!)

One tip - requests/bugs are more likely to get a response if they're separated up into separate reports rather than a list of different issues.

Thank you , I was trying to be conservative in posts rather than list multiple notes. I can see how having one issue and a descriptive tile would make it easy to scan and index. Seems the cloud (more frequent dot relase method ) for lightroom may lead to more unresolved conflicts in the app/

Using this atm and everytime i try and open up the Develop Module, i get crash and this message appears

"Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 64-bit has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop workking correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."

Ok, so Adobe, you take every month from me $10 but at the moment im only getting half the package. Do you only take $5 per month now until you fix your problems. I see on other forums that this has been an issue from already last month but no repairs or bug fixes seemed to have been applied. This is what i use for my work and have had no response from anyone at Adobe. Maybe its time to go back to my program CD's and keep my $10 per month.

Warren, you say you've had no help from Adobe... so where did you post a full description of your problem asking for help?

If it's crashing immediately on opening Develop and other modules are ok, a corrupted preset would be a good place to start looking.

Ok, it's not down to presets then. However there are hundreds of thousands of people happily using the Develop module, so it has to be something on your machine. Since we're not mind readers, we'll need a lot more information before we can figure out what that is.
