Lightroom 5.3: Printing does not use the correct settings, nor does it save changes to the print dialog.

My setup is as follows, Windows 8.1, Lightroom 5.3, Photoshop CC, Epson Stylus Photo 1290.

  1. When printing the photo from Lightroom, the quality of the printed photo is not as set in my Printer Dialog (Foto-RPM being Epson's best quality).

Printing the same image from Photoshop CC, honors the quality set in the print dialog.

Printing the same 7x9 image, side by side on the same paper (Lightroom first, then Photoshop) also takes a lot different time.

Lightroom does it in ~30 seconds, Photoshop does it in ~6:30 - 13 times slower than Lightroom - But it uses the settings of the printer setup.

I have also tested printing a photo from Picasa, and printing in 5x8 (smaller) takes ~3:40. And the quality is correct.

Examining the photos, there is a clear rastering of the image when printed from Lightroom - Making small details impossible to see, and gives the entire image a blurry look.

  2. When printing from Lightroom, the first line of the print is a single pixel black line

  3. Using the Page Setup... in Lightroom, does not store settings changed in Printer properties - I have to use the Printer settings of windows control panel, and is not able to setup my Templates based on Paper or Quality.

This is the print dialog used in Lightroom:

Here are a couple of snapshots (iPhone) where you can see the quality difference.
