Installing Lightroom_5_LS11_mac_5_3.dmg on Mac OS 10.8.5 does not work. I have plenty of free disk space and rebooting the OS does not help. The only version I can install is Lightroom_5_LS11.dmg. It seems like a manufacturing error with the .pkg file content. Here is the error:

Hi Doru, I haven't seen other customers hit this issue. My guess is the installer may be damaged. Have you tried downloading the installer again (possibly with a different browser) to eliminate that as a possible cause?

If that doesn't solve it, it would be useful to know what language is set your System Preferences, what language you're choosing for the installer, and what language you had selected in the previous install of Lightroom, if any.

Hi, Jeffrey, I downloaded the DMG image again using both the Firefox and Safari browsers and got identical files with MD5 (Lightroom_5_LS11_mac_5_3.dmg) = 0858c9435d60fed7f3332b3683fc04ad. It worked this time. The corrupted download occurred while using the DownThemAll Firefox plugin (which never failed me until now). Also noticed abysmal download rate (~6Kbps). Further investigation revealed that the Adobe download servers do not handle well download managers capable of concurrently downloading 4 file segments. I say this after verifying that downloading comparable size ISO images from other servers show matching MD5 checksums whenever I use Firefox, Safari or Firefox+DownThemAll. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.
