Lightroom 5.3 Hangs When Exporting Video

When I try and export videos in LR5.3, sometimes it works, but most of the time it just stops mid-way through. Many times I never see any white in the progress bar, meaning zero progress. The files are not huge, mostly under 100MB.

Sometimes, I get an eror message of "An unknown error occurred. (1)"

What I've tried:

* Restarting my machine several times
* Deleted the preferences file and started fresh
* Changed the export destination folder to my desktop, but got the same issue.
* Tested exporting still images, which worked fine
* Tested exporting using the video setting to export an unedited/uncompressed version of the file, which worked fine.
* Changing the encoding setting from H.264 Medium to H.264 Max, but got the same issue.
* Testing using both .MOV and .MP4 source files.
* Manually reinstalled Lightroom app. This helped process a couple files, but then went back to hanging.
* Adding lightroom to my firewall exceptions.

Any suggestions? Could the video encoder be corrupted somehow? Is there a way to reset it?
