Lightroom 4: Manually Sort Collections List

The Problem:

Lightroom currently only allows sorting of the collections list by name or by kind. This is inefficient for any user who has collections (or collection sets) of different priorities (see Example 2) or who just wants to sort some of them by date (see Example 1).

Bad Solution:

Put numbers in front of every collection's name. ("01 Important Collections", "02 Less important collections" etc.) That was inelegant with Windows 95 already. It's 2012, we should not need to do this.

Good Solution:

Make the list sortable by hand.

None that I can see. Manual sorting could be a non-default option, thus users without interest in this function could just leave the list sorted by name or kind. Manual sorting could be locked if not activated by the user in the "+"-dropdown so collections would not inadvertently change order when trying to move some of them to a different collection set.

Example 1:

Assume you have a collection set with one collection for each month. Lightroom will inevitably sort these as follows:

This is confusing and unhelpful.

Example 2:

Assume you have a very large list of collections, but only a few of them are frequently accessed. Lightroom will currently put these wherever their name happens to fit. If one could sort the list manually, one could (e. g.) put important items at the top, making them much easier to find and work with.
