Lightroom 4 Books

Lightroom 4 Book collection folders of previously published books are being corrupted / invaded by photos from other recently added collection book folders. I have printed several copies of two different books. I added a new collection for a 3rd book and those pictures eventually worked their way into the other 2 layouts replacing the originals.

Collection folders should be isolated entities and do exist in their pure state for awhile but somehow other pictures can enter later and destroy the design, copy, layout. Basically, the entire layout can disappear. The correct original picture strips at the bottom are still there but the actual older pages change to new ones and the captions are gone. This may happen a week or 2 after a new book collection set has been created. This has happened twice in the last few months. So far, my only solution is to delete the corrupted book and start over.

Hi Gary, We are familiar with cases of books disappearing and Sharad, the product manager for Lightroom, has just posted a new blog entry on this book issue. It includes specifics on what can cause it and how to avoid it. The team has tracked down a reproducible set of steps that can be used to nail down a fix in a future update to Lightroom 4.
