Lightroom: LR 4.3 will not launch Photoshop CS6

When in Lightroom 4.3 I try to use the edit in command for photo shop cs6 (CMD + E). A response states " cannot launch photoshop". Although the secondary editor works ( option + CMD + E) perfectly. Both programs have been reloaded several times, and upgraded. I have removed the appropriate plist files from the library to no avail. My computer is a ( 2012) 27" iMac 3.4 ghz, 32 gb ram, storing files on a Drobo 5D. I have read all the forum threads and they relate to PS elements or older versions of both products from early 2012. Nothing stated concerning the latest programs. Any help is appreciated

Does PS CS6 launch normally by itself? If Photoshop is already running, does "Edit In" work correctly?

Has is ever worked on this system? Or did it work previously but recently stop working?

The problem is new. When I read your email I tried to respond and the computer would not let me follow the link. After looking around I found out there is a problem with mountain lion. When I tried to reinstall from the app center. The response was " this computer is not capable of running mountain lion". Brand new iMac not capable, I think that is the problem. Right now I'm downloading the installer from my laptop and will reinstall the system on the iMac. I'll let you know. I was supposed to take the wife to San Francisco for the day today, I cancelled. I'd like to say she understands, but.

Fixed! Turns out the Mountain Lion software for the Imac with Fusion Drive has a different 10.82 version than the non fusion macs. At first when I tried to Edit in photoshop from Lightroom I would get a response of " Components of the application are missing, reload the program" Which I took to mean Photoshop, turns out not to be the case! The new fusion macs software is not available for download, it must be installed from the internet. This is the first time i have ever had to post a query. Usually I can research other user threads and figure out the problem. This was confusing, Thank you for your assistance and will have to pay big time for the missed day in SF.
