Lightroom 4.3 Identity Plates do not work with OpenType fonts

It appears that Lr 4.3 has introduced a bug that allows text styled identity plates to work correctly only with TrueType fonts. OpenType fonts (e.g. SanvitoPro) seem to display as black on a black background (hence invisible). Changing the font colour has no effect. This certainly was not the case in Lr 4.2.

a really annoying bug because the Identity Plate was the only way to somehow get around the inability to use OpenType fonts in the Watermark Editor, another 'bug' that has been around ever since watermarking was introduced in LR3!

What I don't understand is why the company who co-developed OTFs deliberately omits them in a product that shipped almost 7 years after they migrated their whole font library from TTF to OTF...

But enough rant...I hope you come up with a solution in the (very) near future

apparently this Microsoft patch (MS12-078/2783534) solves the issue with the blank OTF Identity Plate.

On one of my PCs where I had this issue since updating to LR4.3, the IP started working again after the installation of the patch.

Strange but if this is the solution...then it's fine with me...

The latest Microsoft patches do seem to fix the OTF issue in the Identity Plates. However, I have abandoned OTF fonts in my identity plates (just in case it happens again).
