Lightroom: 4.3 suddenly stopped exporting to Flickr

Yesterday I had spend a few hours working in Lightroom 4.2 and exporting to Flickr using Lightroom's publishing services (as I've been doing for 2 years now, trouble free, on my 27 inch iMac (OS X Lion, v. 10.7.5). Suddenly, when I went to export a short set of photos, BAM - no more ability to export to Flickr. I get a pop up telling me "Could not contact the Flickr WebService. Please check your Internet Connection." I upgraded to 4.3, but got the exact same pop up upon exporting a photo or set of photos to Flickr.

Web research (on this site and elsewhere) reveals that this used to be an issue when the photo(s) filename contained an apostrophe. However, that doesn't seem to matter in my case. I've tried "re-loading" the Flickr Plug-In to no avail. I also tried creating a new Lightroom Catalog, re-loading the plug in, again . . . same pop up.

For this to happen in the middle of an export session is just odd. In other words, I had been happily exporting photos for a number of sets. Then, out of the blue, between export of set no. 3 (maybe 20 jogs.) and set no. 4 (only 4 jgs), I got the pop up. I am totally flummoxed and pretty distressed. Help?

Is it possible the Flickr Webservice was down or experience troubles at time? (e.g. could you manually upload the set of images to Flickr from the Flickr website?

Hi Jeff! Thanks for the reply!!! Indeed, I confirmed yesterday and I confirmed again today . . . nothing wrong with Flickr's ability to manually upload a photo or set of photos. This issue is just killing me!

Brian your not crazy. since I updated to LR 4.3 My Flickr Pro account acts like its uploading (thru LR) but just when you think its about finished I get that same message. So far I have only tried this with video files, however when manually uploading using Flickr website I can successfully upload.

The update to LR4.3 may just have been a coincidence though. It had been a week or so since I had done any publishing to Flickr.

I also just starting to get this issue. Half way through uploading a set it stopped and won't publish any more pics.

I no longer get an error message but nothing uploads. It says that the task is complete but there are pictures remaining to be uploaded.

Very frustrating. I'm not sure whether it was b/c of 4.3 since the problem started with the prior version then i upgraded thinking this will be resolved but Nada.

Help!

Are you guys seeing similar problems with your Flickr uploads with Jeffrey's Flickr plug-in: http://regex.info/blog/lightroom-good...

Thanks. That may yield some clues whether it's Lightroom specific, Flickr API specific, or account specific.

So I've been playing with it and got it to work for about 30 minutes then it stopped working.

This is what I did to get to work;

I closed out of the application, opened task manager (noticed multiple instances of lightroom running), and killed all the instances of lightroom.

Then, I opened the application, restarted the plug-in and it uploaded for 30 minutes. I was very happy about this. I thought I had figured out the problem but then it stopped and won't upload anymore.

Can't seem to replicate the fix again.

I really don't think it's an issue with the Flickr API or account specific. I've been uploading pics via my phone and Eye-Fi to flickr all day and no problems at all. I have eye-fi synced so that it uploads pictures to flickr and no issues there.

I think this is Lightroom specific but can't seem to figure out what and why

Just for the record, I too have had no issues uploading photo files directly to Flickr via their manual upload. Works fine. Just not when I utilize the Lightroom tool . . .
