Lightroom 4.1RC2 very slow to apply spot removal

I'm noticing that Lightroom 4.1RC2 very slow to apply spot removal on a large photo thats also heavily processed.

For instance, I have a 15,000 x 17,000 pixel x 16bit grayscale scan of some medium format negatives. The file is approx 300mb. I work on this with with multiple virtual copies each with different crops of each negative which are about 5000x5000 px.

When loaded into LR 4.1RC2, develop sliders are reasonably responsive. However, when I apply a spot removal 'spot' about 50 px wide, it can take LR up to 20 sec to 'resolve'. It seems that LR is scanning the whole uncropped image in order to guess the best source for the spot. Perhaps it would be best for LR to only scan the cropped area + some buffer. Who knows if someone out there might be using an even bigger image than what I'm working with.

Just to clarify the spot removal creation time gets longer the more processed the image is. Perhaps the spot removal tool require the whole image to be processed first before scanning it for a suitable source which is wasteful even if the image is uncropped and extremely so if the image is heavily cropped.

I noticed a general slowness in LR4 RC2
I do think there are performance issues that needs to be addressed.

It takes a while to process each spot, specially if the image its at 100% zoom.

I have not get my finger on workarounds, but this is happening
